You need to review your sunscreen ASAP this summer.
And it isn't because the SPF is not high enough. But the kind of ingredients manufacturers are adding to give it that SPF.
See there are 2 types of UV filters, chemical and physical.
Whilst a chemical one may work in the short term and prevent you from getting sunburn, the chemical itself and its breakdown products are bad for you.
How?
They disrupt your delicate hormone balance and harm our coral reefs.
Don't believe me?
Hawaii has banned chemical sunscreens because of the damage to coral reefs as well as hormone interefence.

And I guarantee your conventional sunscreen has chemicals listed above as banned.Β
The Walmart shelves are STACKED with sunscreens with those same chemicals.
So how can I safely get my tan on this summer?Β
Not by damaging your hormones, thats for sure!
Buit I'm glad you asked!
The other type of sunscreen filter is mineral based. A mineral filter is photo-stable meaning it doesn't break down in the sunlight. This means it can protect you from the UV longer and in a more safe way.
Given that it's mineral(rock)-based, it doesn't harm your hormones or the coral reefs (think of spreading smooth finely ground volcanic rock or mud over your skin). It safely blocks UV A/B so you can rest easy knowing your natural protection is good for all including the coral reefs!
