RFK Jr. Continues His Fight Against The Deep State

You guys responded last week that you LOVED our Weekly MAHA updates- heres the next edition:

1. Vitamin A Recommendation Amid Measles Outbreak

Amid a growing measles outbreak in West Texas and New Mexico, Secretary Kennedy suggested using vitamin A, specifically cod liver oil, as a treatment. While vitamin A can aid vitamin-deficient patients with measles, it does not prevent the disease. Public health experts emphasize that the MMR vaccine remains the most effective preventive measure, expressing concerns that Kennedy's recommendation might lead to misconceptions about supplements as vaccine alternatives and potential vitamin A toxicity.

2. Internal Challenges at HHS

Secretary Kennedy's initial weeks at the Department of Health and Human Services have been marked by internal secrecy and frustrations. Despite his promises of radical transparency and efforts to combat chronic diseases, his tenure has faced challenges, including internal disagreements and resistance to his strategies. Notably, a congratulatory social media post to Steak 'n Shake was quickly deleted due to internal concerns of favoritism.

3. Congressional Inquiry into Nursing Home Policies

House Republicans from New York are questioning federal health agencies, led by Secretary Kennedy, on whether former Governor Andrew Cuomo violated federal guidelines by instructing nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients during the early stages of the pandemic. The inquiry seeks clarity on the consistency of Cuomo's directive with federal policy and its impact on nursing home residents.

4. SNAP 'Junk' Food Ban Proposal

Lawmakers have proposed restricting "junk" food purchases under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), aiming to add items like soft drinks, prepared desserts, ice cream, and candy to the prohibited list. Dietitians and beneficiaries express skepticism, citing challenges for recipients, especially those in food deserts, where accessing healthy, affordable options is difficult. Critics highlight the higher costs of healthy foods and the impracticality of enforcing the ban.
