I'm sure many of you are getting well acquainted with mosquitos now that it's summer!
Not all bugs are bad, but the ones that are really SUCK (pun intended).
But before you reach for your conventional bug repelling spray, give this a read (5 mins tops).
Sick of coughing up every time you use bug spray?

Conventional bug sprays and lotions often contain harmful chemicals that are neither good for you or the environment.
Ever notice how it says "apply in a well-ventilated space"?
You aren't supposed to breathe that $hit in.
They also STINKKKKKK!
So why would it be safe to apply to your skin?
Sure it keeps the insects away, but for how long and at what long-term cost to your health and the environment?
Let's dig a little deeper into your conventional bug sprays and why you should be avoiding them:
Toxic Ingredients: Many conventional bug sprays and lotions contain synthetic chemicals such as DEET (N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide), permethrin, and picaridin. These chemicals can be toxic to humans and can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and other adverse health effects with prolonged use. The chemicals used in conventional bug sprays and lotions can also have harmful effects on the environment.
They: - harm aquatic life, - contaminate water sources - contribute to air pollution when sprayed into the atmosphere.
We don't need to contaminate our environment any more, do we?! I don't need to emphasize how bad some of these chemicals are for your health. Some studies have suggested potential health risks associated with the long-term use of certain bug spray ingredients, including neurological and developmental effects. Children, pregnant women, and individuals with sensitive skin or respiratory conditions are particularly vulnerable.
Then theres the age-old issue of resistance with overuse, leading to the development of resistance in insects, making them less effective over time. This can create a need for stronger formulations or increased application frequency, exacerbating the risks associated with exposure to toxic chemicals. This isn't good for ANYONE.
To top it all off, theres the Impact on beneficial Insects, given the lack of selectivity of synthetic chemicals, so beneficial insects such as bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are disrupted. This can have far-reaching consequences for biodiversity and food production.
So what do we do?
