What’s wrong with regular sunscreen?

The FDA has stated that zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the only two sunscreen actives currently proposed as generally recognized as safe and effective, while several common chemical filters still need more safety data.

When you swim, shower, or sweat, chemical sunscreen residues can wash into waterways. NOAA reports that certain chemical UV filters found in sunscreen can harm aquatic life, including coral, and that mineral sunscreen is considered a better option because it has fewer effects on aquatic organisms.

Does it leave a white cast?

Much less than typical mineral sunscreens.

Non-nano zinc oxide naturally has a white tint because it is a mineral, but we add cocoa powder to help soften the finish and make it more wearable on the skin.

How do I use it?

Apply generously and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure.

Apply a small amount to exposed skin before sun exposure. Rub in evenly. Reapply as needed, especially after sweating, swimming, or towel drying.

How long does it last?

For best results, store at room temperature away from direct heat. Keep the lid sealed between uses. Use within 12 months of opening.
